Tomás Ramírez Apolinario is a partner in the Commercial Law Department at URA Urquiza Abogados in our Las Palmas de Gran Canaria office.

He specializes in commercial law and has extensive experience in providing legal advice to companies, particularly in M&A, corporate law, financial law, capital markets, and commercial contracting.

He regularly provides advice on major corporate and financial operations, as well as to companies that operate in sectors such as healthcare, tourism, management of major shopping centres, large scale commercial distribution. 

He earned his Law degree from the Institute of Stock Market Studies (an institution affiliated with the Complutense University of Madrid), where he was awarded the extraordinary career prize, and he holds a Master’s in Stock Market and Financial Markets.

He began his professional career in Madrid in 2011 in the M&A - Private Equity department at the law firm Uría Menéndez.

Between 2013 and 2017, he worked in the legal-financial department of the Secretariat General of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A., where he provided recurring legal advice on capital operations (capital increases, issues of convertible and hybrid capital debentures), wholesale funding and banking regulation matters. During his stage at the BBVA, he held the post of Vice-Secretary of various issuing companies within the BBVA Group.

In 2017 and 2018, he was a member of the legal department at Cogress Global Properties, S.L. and the capital markets and transparency legal department at CaixaBank, S.A.

In April 2019, he joined the Mercantile Law Department as a Senior Partner at URA Urquiza Abogados, at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria office

He has been recognized in the international directory Best Lawyers for his work in “Banking and Finance Law.”
