Tomás Ramírez Apolinario is a Senior Partner in the Mercantile Law Department at URA Urquiza Abogados, based at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria office.

He is specialised in Mercantile Law and has ample experience of providing mercantile advice to companies, especially in the fields of M&A, capital markets, mercantile and corporate contracts.

He regularly provides advice on major corporate and financial operations, as well as to companies that operate in sectors such as healthcare, tourism, management of major shopping centres, large scale commercial distribution and central purchasing. 

He graduated in Law at the Stock Exchange Studies Institute, a centre attached to the Complutense University of Madrid, where he earned the graduation extraordinary award. 

In 2011, he began his professional career in Madrid in the M&A - Private Equity Department of the firm Uría Menéndez.

Between 2013 and 2017, he worked in the legal-financial department of the Secretariat General of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A., where he provided recurring legal advice on capital operations (capital increases, issues of convertible and hybrid capital debentures), wholesale funding and banking regulation matters. During his stage at the BBVA, he held the post of Vice-Secretary of various issuing companies within the BBVA Group.

In 2017 and 2018, he was a member of the legal department at Cogress Global Properties, S.L. and the capital markets and transparency legal department at CaixaBank, S.A.

In April 2019, he joined the Mercantile Law Department as a Senior Partner at URA Urquiza Abogados, at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria office
